Fate and relevance of organic trace substances in the marine environment, such as
- Pesticides, e.g., glyphosate
- natural organic P compounds, e.g., methyl phosphonic acid
are the focus of my research.
The development and application of state-of-the-art methods for sample preparation and analysis is en essential part of this work such as
- chromatographic-massspectrometric separation techniques, e.g., LC-MSMS or GC-MS
- Electrodialysis
Within the scope of Environmental Monitoring which IOW conducts annually on behalf of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency I am working in the frame of the analysis of persistent organic polllutants.
My work is assigned to the research foci RF3 and RF4 of the IOW research programme.
I am the head of the analytics group and the subgroup Organic Pollutans in which the analysis of the persistent organic pollutants, chlorinated and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, is conducted according to the norm DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
