The strong MBI in November 1973 supplied the bottom water of the Bornholm and Gdańsk Basins with oxygen during 1974. Although the H₂S concentrations were reduced, the anoxic bottom water was not completely renewed in the eastern Gotland Basin as well as in the northern and western Gotland Basins in Oct./Nov. 1974. The oxic conditions in the Landsort Deep station are an exception (NEHRING & FRANCKE, 1976a). Discrepancies between the maps and the explaining text are explained in chapter 6, p. 21.
