Pilot study

 

In this study we use the Baltic Sea as model for large Arctic estuaries to investigate the bacterial response to increased tDOM availability. We manipulated tDOM by different pretreatments and incubated the modified tDOM with a coastal bacterial community taken at Warnemünde. The changes in DOM were monitored by high resolution mass spectrometry, and the response of the bacterial community by high resolution amplicon pyrosequencing.
