To achieve the cluster's goals, the Ocean Technology Campus Rostock needs creative talents who contribute their experience, skills and ideas. Dedicated people in the field of marine technology can only be recruited and retained in Rostock if they (i) have equal access to the opportunities and infrastructure of the cluster (ii) find attractive working and living conditions (iii) are offered appropriate training and further education. Cross-innovation field and cross-project cooperation in the recruitment of talent and the promotion of young talent, taking into account diversity, equal opportunities and international orientation - from school pupils to university graduates and skilled workers - is crucial for this. This is where the OTC-PromOcean project comes in. It emerged from the OCEAN TALENTS and OCEAN GENDER projects. The previous objectives of the two predecessor projects are being taken up and expanded as required. They are:
* to inspire young talents and specialists for (i) marine technology across all educational paths, training levels, nationalities, genders and other diversity characteristics and (ii) to attract them to Rostock as a business location
* contribute to increasing international visibility
* to break down structural barriers and discrimination and to create a campus that is open in which the perspectives and realities of life of the diverse cluster members are taken into account in strategic and personal decisions
* increase the attractiveness of the location for talent, especially for female and international specialists.
The measures to achieve our goals are divided into the following work packages: 1. management & strategy, 2. governance and diversity mainstreaming, 3. diversity monitoring, 4. widening - welcoming culture & internationalisation, 5. talent promotion and empowerment, 6. marketing and recruitment.
