Changes in biological production and species composition in response to elevated CO2 and temperature are studied within BIOACID. Consortium 0 supports technically and analytically the work, consortium 1 organism the KOSMOS experiments in Swedish waters and on Gran Canarias. Long-term responses of bacteria from the redoxcline and in indoor- mesocosm will be investigates, while consortium 2 studies the response of benthic organisms on nigh CO2 levels in benthocosm experiments and in natural settings. The overarching goal of BIOACID is the understanding of the long-term adaptation of communities and the prognosis of future changes of biogeochemical fluxes to support global modelling efforts.
