current work

Richard Hofmeister is PhD-student at the IOW. In the framework of the project QuantAS-Nat, he will investigate on the natural mixing during inflow events into the Baltic Sea and its effects on renewing water masses in the halocline in the deeper basins. The focus of the work is on model technics (adaptive vertical coordinates, pressure gradient formulations) which help to reduce numerical errors and artificial mixing.
